  • Port of Entry.  This should be the highest priority item before the city government right now.  It is extremely important that we do everything possible to facilitate the timely development of this asset.

  • City/County Cooperation.  The city and county should have almost exact agendas yet they seem to operate completely independent of each other.  I will do my best to make sure I know the county's position on any new issues before moving forward.

  • Property Tax Freeze for Senior Citizens.  I am in favor of this resolution.

  • Second International Bridge.  I feel that while we should be aware of the probable future need for a second bridge, we should refrain from spending any more money on this project until a more definite need is apparent.  We should monitor Acuna's and Coahuila's plans and react accordingly.

  • TIF for Main Street.  I am cautiously in favor of aTIF for Main Street.  However I don't think the possible downsides of a TIF have been presented to the Council for them to make an informed decision.

  • Appointed Boards- I will try to follow board recommendations whenever possible, that's why they were created. To do otherwise defeats the purpose of having a Bridge Board, Planning and Zoning Board, Water Board, Airport Board, etc.
