Mr. Wrob graduated from the University of Missouri-Rolla with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and was on the honor roll his last 6 semesters.  He is a registered Professional Engineer.

He moved to Del Rio in 1996 and founded Marathon Heater, Inc.  Marathon Heater started with just 4 employees and has grown to over 80 employees.  In 2002 Marathon Heater was named by Inc. Magazine as one of the 500 fastest growing privately held companies in America.  Prior to founding Marathon Heater, Mr. Wrob was president of Enfab, Inc., a manufacturer of heat exchangers.

Mr. Wrob is heavily involved in the Del Rio community.  He is a member of the Del Rio Chamber of Commerce where he serves on the Board of Directors and is chairman of the Economic Development Committee.  He is also a member of the Military Affairs Association and a member of Go Del Rio.

He lives in south Del Rio and is a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where he serves on the Finance Council.  He was recently chosen to serve on the Advisory Board of the Maryknoll Lay Missioners.

In his spare time Mr. Wrob enjoys competing in triathlons, waterskiing, and flying.  Mr. Wrob is also a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and Del Rio Fitness and Racing Team.

Mr. Wrob decided to run for councilperson because he sees enormous growth potential in the City of Del Rio and wants to see that potential realized.  He hopes to utilize his experience as a businessman to contribute to the City Council.  He’s thrilled with the arrival of Continental Airlines and wants to build on our good fortune.  His top priorities are; facilitating the construction of the new Port of Entry, attracting manufacturing jobs to Del Rio, and getting the loop back on track.
